The late Henry King was an English poet and a bishop.He was the eldest son of John King, Bishop of London. He was baptised at Worminghall Buckinghamshire on January 16th 1592. He was an educator at Lord William's School, Westminister school and became a student of Christ Church, Oxford in 1608. King wrote many elegies on royal individuals and his private friends. From there on, a selection from his poems was published in 1843 in which, 'A Contemplation Upon Flowers' was chosen. Henry, was one of the most prominent poets during his days of poetry.He was one of the most volatile and hard working poets who always took poetry seriously even in times of hardship. Some of his famous poems includes: 'A Contemplation Upon Flowers', 'Sic Vita' and 'The Exequy'.
