Biography on Stewart Brown

Stewart Brown was born on 1951 in Southhampton. He was an English editor, poet and a critic. Brown studied at Falmouth School of Art, Sussex University, Wales and Aberystwth where he pursued studies in Art and literature. He spent part of his life as a teacher in Nigeria, Wales and the Caribbean Islands of Barbados and Jamaica. He has edited several anthologies of African and Caribbean writing and made many visual images. He criticized the work of Derek Walcott, Kanau Brathwaite and Martin charter. Stewart received the Gregory Award in 1976 and has published four collections of poetry.
